How We Raise

The way our family
has always done it.

Grass to grain, calf to plate, the standards we won't bend.

Kuleana to the land. Respect for the animal. Pride in feeding the families that live here.

Chapter One

Grass-fed and finished.

Our cattle eat what cattle were meant to eat. Forage, every day, start to finish. No grain finishing, no feedlot, no shortcuts to add weight quickly.

That decision shows up in the meat. Leaner, with a deeper flavor that comes from animals living the way they were built to live. It also takes longer, and it's more work. We think it's worth it.

Chapter Two

Pasture-raised on Oʻahu.

The herd lives on the west side of Oʻahu, on volcanic pasture that's been worked by ranchers for generations. We rotate them through different sections so the land stays healthy and the cattle always have fresh forage.

You won't find our cattle in barns or pens for the bulk of their lives. They're outside, in the same weather we're in, on the same land we walk every day.

Chapter Three

Calm handling, every day.

How an animal is handled matters. Stress changes the meat, and it changes the people doing the work. We move cattle slow, give them time, and pay attention to what they're telling us.

This is paniolo work the way it's been done for four generations on BobbieJo's side and four on Dustin's. You don't rush a thousand-pound animal. You earn its trust.

Chapter Four

Locally butchered.

Once an animal is harvested, the meat is dry-aged on island for tenderness and flavor, then cut to your order. Steaks are cut to thickness, ground beef is freshly ground, roasts are tied and trimmed.

Everything is vacuum-sealed and labeled before it leaves for you. Your beef has never been frozen and shipped across an ocean.

Chapter Five

The standards we won't bend.

No hormones. No antibiotics for growth. No animal byproducts in the feed. No corners cut to make a number look better on paper.

We raise beef the way we'd want to feed our own kids, because we are feeding our own kids. The same animal going to your freezer is the same one feeding ours.
